ORIGIN OF THE NAME NEWBOURNE & WHY IS IT SPELLED LIKE THAT:
-
The name was chosen for several reasons.
-
1. A name was desired that reflected a real place, yet lent itself to a fairytale feel. The spelling is derived from the old english spelling.
-
2. The names of some of the most respected and successful festivals in the country go by names that represent a real place, historical event or a feeling rather than a region in the U.S.A.
-
3. Since Newbourne Village Renaissance Festival is not the first festival to ever take place on the grounds, a name needed to be chosen that would distinctly differentiate us from the former fairs. Also it's been over a decade since a festival was on the grounds and we feel that we are like the phoenix - a festival born anew.
-
4. The word Renaissance means "Rebirth". It was a celebration of life and all that was best in humanity. So, "Newbourne" or "New Born" is a play on that.

We do have an ATM in our Village.

WEAPONS POLICY:
-
Absolutely no firearms are permitted on the festival grounds.
-
Other weapons must be peace-tied at all times: this means that the weapon is tied, strapped or otherwise secured so that it cannot be drawn or wielded.
-
Any guest wielding, holding, or displaying an untied weapon will be ejected from the fair.
-
We reserve the right not to allow a weapon to be brought into the fare for any reason.
